It is here.. at Haiku Plantation Inn.. Maui's Original Bed and Breakfast .... that we invite you to journey back to the yesteryear of old Hawaii. This gracious plantation home, built in the 1870's for Maui's first sugar plantation doctor, retains most of its original architecture and historic grounds. Set among the charm of Maui's historic plantation townes and the magnificent beauty of upcountry, today the old plantation home serves as Maui's original and truly Hawaiian Bed and Breakfast Inn.
May 2011: Sunset Magazine recommends Haiku Plantation Inn
Maui's original bed and breakfast, Haiku Plantation Inn, is a step back in time to the simpler and romantic days of Hawaii's sugar and pineapple plantations. The Inn is lovingly restored and provides well appointed accommodations, lush tropical grounds, sweeping lanais, and comfortable spaces for evening chats with other guests. Set in a small towne with a wonderful small community atmosphere, we are still conveniently located with easy access off the Hana Highway just minutes to the best beaches, a shorter drive to Haleakala or Hana, and all Maui activities.

Our Latest Exciting News , Nov 2010
Here, you will easily experience the best of Maui's both worlds : the trendy tourist areas are nearby yet the Inn is located in a semi-rural and agriculture area known as Maui's North Shore and Upcountry.
We are within a few minutes walking distance to shops, eateries, hike and crater bike tours, public services: post office & bus depot and of course The Studio Maui. Our Inn is located in a lovely small community called Haiku. We are only 17 minutes to the airport and our main city of Kahului, yet our plantation town of Haiku retains its rural character and is proud to keep the heritage of Hawaii's vanishing plantation lifestyle alive.
Dedicated Feb 2, 2012
Friends come together and construct the new labyrinth dedicated to love, family, harmony and personal peace.
We are honored to have such wonderful guests and friends who would share their love, time. labor of love and mana to construct such a wonderful space for everyone to experience and share. A heart felt place dedicated to those with us now, those who we have loved and lost and the ancestors who have walked this land for a millennium. Mahalo to Joe and Paul
A Labyrinth Of Love
The ambience of Maui's North Shore with its spectacular tropical beauty, majestic coastline, rain forests with waterfalls and Hawaiian rural country life mix and overlap here along these lower slopes of Haleakala. Haiku Plantation Inn is located 400 feet above sea level and due to our elevation and the North Shore gentle trades we enjoy a comfortable climate with cooler temperatures. We average 76-78 in the days and 68-70 in the evenings.
Here in Haiku we typically have beautiful Maui sunny days and as in the tropics our few gentle rains do create spectacular rainbows and a true garden of eden. We are lucky to have two lush acres producing a most magnificent and fruitful garden, loved for generations. Maui's oldest upcountry mango tree, a giant of a tree, welcomes our guests with open arms as you enter the property past the pond and waterfall. Plumeria, haleconia, & bananas all grow wild and mix with a beautiful and fruitful garden; with roots before the turn of the 20th century and now once again lovingly returns the fruits of those who toiled over a hundred years ago.
Upcountry Maui & North Shore areas are truly spectacular. It's the Hawaii of history books, the tropical destination visitors crave to find and experience. We are only a few miles away from the resorts, yet it remains culturally viable, ecologically advanced and community based : the area has much to offer our visitors; there are surprises and delightful experiences: pure magic awaits.
